The Sweater Dress | What I Wore

Welcome back to another What I Wore Wednesday! Today's outfit is (finally) something a bit different than my usual jeans & sweater combination. I've had this sweater dress for the longest time, I can't even remember where I got it from, but I love the grey colour and the knit pattern that it has. I like to wear it with either leggings or a pair of dark opaque tights (since it's not a very long sweater dress). I paired the outfit with my knee-length black suede boots that I got last year from Deichmann - I love these boots, they're so perfect for wearing with black leggings. I picked my George at ASDA * bag and, for accessories, I went with a golden cuff bracelet from H&M and a colourful scarf that was a gift. I like comfortable outfits like this for autumn weather, plus they're so easy to put together. I hope you liked my outfit, and don't forget to link yours below!

Home Inspiration #5 || Living room

Welcome to the fifth blogpost of the Home Inspiration series! This one will be all about the living room area and how I plan on decorating this space. In case you didn't see the previous blogposts from this series, here's a quick sum up of what style of decorating I prefer:
The decorating style that I love and plan on going for in the entire apartment is the scandinavian, nordic, minimalist type. I really like furniture with clean lines, not too embellished or fancy, which you will be able to tell from the inspiration boards that I've put together below. For the colours I want to go for white and grey, and then to warm up the place - brown/cream tones and lots of texture (blankets, throw pillows, baskets etc.).

I've made two collages for this, because I thought putting everything together into one will be too much. In the first one I focused on the area around the sofa. We both (my fiance and I) love this style of sofa from Ikea - it is the Kivik one in the Isunda colour. I looove that shade, and even if we don't end up getting that exact one, I really want to get a light grey couch. I don't want to have a dark coloured couch, but I also don't want a white one, because that's just terrifying- haha. I can only imagine how quickly a white couch would get dirty. So I think this grey one is the perfect middle ground. I think a light wooden coffee table would go great with this - I also don't want to go with white for the coffee table because the rest of the furniture will be featuring a lot of white (like the TV stand) and I think this is a better look. I am so excited to get little decorations for the coffee table, as well as some lovely throw pillows, all of the ones I featured above are from H&M Home - I absolutely love their decor pieces.

For the TV area, I would love to get a combination from the Besta systems from Ikea. I think the plain white ones look so pretty and I think I like the combination with four units. I already have two floor lamps from Ikea (the one pictured in the upper left corner), which I love and I think those really warm up the place and make it look cosy. One thing that I really love and would like to get is the simple shelving unit with four spaces for baskets - I love that combination and I think it will look really nice with the rest of the furniture and decor. I really want to make this room especially nice, because it will probably be the room that we're in most of the time - because we'll also have our office area on a side of this room. The office decor pieces will be featured in tomorrow's blogpost, so stay tuned.

I hope you liked to read/see what I would like to have for home decor and I would love it if you would give me feedback in the comments below. Let me know what you think I should add/remove from this decorating plan.

Faux Fur for Fall | What I Wore

Welcome back to another What I Wore Wednesday blogpost! Today's outfit is quite a warm one, since we've been having crazy cold weather around here. I do love it though, and I think autumn weather and fashion are my favourites. I love cozy outfits like this one, which I wore on a walk in the evening after a long work day. I went with some basics, a pair of leggings and a pale-pink sweater for the under-layers. I paired these with my faux fur vest that I got from Bershka last year (and I still love very much!). It is so lovely to wear and keeps me really warm. For shoes, I went with a pair of knee-length black boots, which I got from Deichmann. I actually also wore my dark sunglasses from H&M this evening, since the sun was still out. I hope you liked my outfit!

Home Inspiration #4 || Kitchen

Welcome to the fourth blogpost of the Home Inspiration series! This one will be all about the kitchen and how I plan on decorating this space.

I kept changing my mind about what colour I want the kitchen to be in. I like white furniture, but I feel like a full-on white kitchen would be a bit too much in my opinion, and even look a bit hospital-like. So I found this pinterest picture (in the upper right corner of the collage) and completely fell in love with it; actually, my fiance said that it's his favourite out of all the kitchens I showed him. I like that it's got the darker brown shade at the bottom, which makes it look a bit warmer. And then the glossy-white cabinets and counter-top. For the table I think we might go for white and then some matching chairs. I think that will look nice, as I'll certainly get some sort of centerpiece for the table, some cushions for the chairs and I'll add the round Soare placemats from Ikea, which I absolutely love (I actually already have two of them, I'll just need to get two more for the whole set to be complete). As you can probably tell from all the collages I've made so far, I really like to go for very basic furniture, and then bring warmth and colour with the small decorations and details. Hopefully it will turn out looking nice!

Navy Stripes | What I Wore

Today's outfit is a pretty casual one, as my outfits usually are these days. Stripes are one of my favourite things to wear, which makes this sweater one of my most worn pieces in my fall/winter wardrobe. I paired the sweater with a pair of navy skinny jeans from New Yorker - which are high-waisted, but you can't really see that when I wear the sweater on top. For a little feminine touch, I added the necklace which I believe I got from Stradivarius a while ago. I went for browns rather than black with the shoes and bag - I just felt like it would make the outfit look a bit warmer. The brown ankle boots are from Deichmann and the brown leather bag was a gift - I really love both of these items, they're also some of my most worn pieces that I own. That's about it for my running-errands outfit of the day, it's quite simple - but that's how I like it. Hope you enjoyed this blogpost!

Home Inspiration #3 || Hallway

Welcome to the third blogpost of the Home Inspiration series! This one will be all about the hallway / entrance area and how I plan on decorating this space.

For the hallway of our apartment I want to keep it quite simple, but I still want to decorate a bit and make it look and feel homey, since this is the first thing you see when you walk into the apartment. We actually have a sort of built-in closet on a side of the hallway, so we don't really need to have cabinets or shoe racks on the actual hallway. I think all of those will go straight in the closet, but we will probably get a console table or something of that sort - so that it doesn't look completely bare. I also want to get a spotlight fixture from Ikea, you can kind of see it at the bottom of the collage I made. I feel like those look really pretty and give the space a very modern feel. I love fluffy carpets like the one in the picture above, which is probably something I would go for on a side of the hallway, perhaps even in some rooms. I don't know if I mentioned this before, but we would like to have all the floors wood-like, so I think a carpet like this will look really pretty with that. One thing that I absolutely want to have in the hallway is a full-length mirror. I feel like it's nice to see how your overall look is before you leave the house - and this is something we don't have in the place we currently live in.

I hope you liked to read/see what I would like to have for home decor and I would love it if you would give me feedback in the comments below. Let me know what you think I should add/remove from this decorating plan.

Home Inspiration #2 || Bathroom

Welcome to the second blogpost of the Home Inspiration series! This will be all about the bathroom and how I plan to decorate it. If you've read yesterday's blogpost, then you will know that we will be moving soon into a new apartment, after we finish arranging and furnishing the place.

I should firstly mention that we will have two bathrooms that need to be set up. As I mentioned in the previous blogpost, the apartment is completely empty, which means that neither of the bathrooms have tiles or anything in them. Which I actually think is really exciting because we get to choose how everything will look like. I personally really like cream or grey bathrooms, because I think they look really classy and simple. I would love to find a similar grey tile pattern as the picture above, maybe even a few shades lighter. We plan on doing both bathrooms the same, because I think it's an easier and more economical process (if you have leftover tiles from one bathroom, you can use them in the other one - so you don't really waste a lot of material). I love when bathrooms have flowers inside, especially orchids like the one pictured above. I'm not sure how well they would survive in there, but maybe I'll get a fake one just for the bathroom. I already have some of those small Ikea baskets, which I love so much. They make the place look warmer. As for the sink area, I looove the ones that Ikea has, but I'm not too sure yet if we're gonna end up getting those. We still need to do a proper search on everything.

I hope you liked to read/see what I would like to have for home decor and I would love it if you would give me feedback in the comments below. Let me know what you think I should add/remove from this decorating plan.

Home Inspiration #1 || Bedroom

I am starting this week with a different type of post, not fashion, neither beauty related. This is going to be the first post from a 6-post series that I will be posting throughout this week. I've been meaning to do this series for quite a while, and finally set some time aside to go through all of my pins on pinterest and the furniture/home websites that I've been checking out lately (mainly Ikea and H&M Home). So I've saved my favourite items and decor inspiration from these websites and made little collages of how I plan on decorating each room in our new home. We are in the process of getting an apartment, there's still paperwork to do, but hopefully it will be ours soon and we can start working on it. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but the apartment we're getting is completely empty inside (meaning that it doesn't have floors installed, no tiles etc.), but that's the way we decided to go, because I think it's easier to make it your own and decorate it the way you like when it's empty.
I am so excited about this and that's why I decided to put together these posts, so that I can look back on them and see what my plan for decorating is.

For the bedroom I looked at a lot of white furniture, including the bed frame and perhaps the nightstands and dresser. I think the beige-brown tones will warm up the place and with some fluffy blankets it will make the place look very comfortable and cosy. One thing that I would really love to do is have a closet/wardrobe with mirrored doors. The reason for that is that I feel it will make the room seem bigger & brighter (as opposed to having a plain wooden wardrobe door).
I would also love to have a vanity/makeup table in the bedroom. I love the one below from Ikea and I think that's the one I'll end up getting. I love that it's simple and it also has a drawer, perfect for holding my makeup products.

That is about it for what I've thought so far for decorating the bedroom. I am sure not everything's going to be exactly as I'm planning right now, but this is mainly for inspirational purposes. I hope you liked to read/see what I would like to have for home decor and I would love it if you would give me feedback in the comments below. Let me know what you think I should add/remove from this decorating plan.
