Spring Drugstore Beauty Haul

After picking up a few new beauty and skincare items from the drugstore, I decided to make a post about it and share with you some new (or maybe not so new) products that I'm currently trying out. Firstly, I picked up another Batiste Dry Shampoo, since I completely used up the other one I had (the exotic scented one), and this new one I got is in the Blush scent. It's nice, but I actually preferred the Exotic one. I think I'll try out the other scents as well before I settle for one in particular. I really love what it does to my hair tough, and I'm pretty sure this is gonna become a staple in my haircare routine. I also got two of the Rimmel 60 Seconds nail polishes, one in a bold yellow shade and the other in a grey tone, which I think are really interesting shades - definitely out of my comfort zone, but I'll give them a go. For skincare, I picked up the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, which everyone raves about and is supposedly a dupe for the Bioderma Micellar Water. I'm really excited to try this out and see how it compares. I also got some pouches of Apivita Express Beauty with Apricot, which have the consistency of a scrub or exfoliating gel and smell reaaaally lovely. Finally, I am trying out the Neutrogena Lip Balm for my excessively dry lips. I know Neutrogena is a really good brand when it comes to skincare, so hopefully this will do wonders to my lips, after the rough winter we've had.

That pretty much sums up what I got at the drugstore lately. Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them?

Spring Trench Coat | What I Wore

Trench coat: Sheinside  |  Top: H&M  |  Jeans: New Yorker  |  Sunglasses: H&M  |  Necklace: Avon (long ago)

Most of you probably know that I was expecting a little package I ordered from Sheinside.com. I got a few spring items, which you can see in the haul video here. I was so excited to get it, since I mainly ordered some spring clothing items, which most likely you will see in the next few outfit posts. I love everything I got and this trench coat is definitely gonna become a staple in my spring wardrobe. The colour is a pretty peachy-pink shade, it's got really cute buttons and I just love the look of a trench coat during springtime. This definitely is a thin fabric, so you wanna be wearing something like this when it's not incredibly cold outside, just chilly. I paired the trench coat with a simple, basic H&M top and my navy skinny jeans from New Yorker. For shoes, I wore the Deichmann black ankle boots, since it's still a bit cold for flats / ballet pumps. My vintage looking necklace is one I bought from Avon a long time ago, but I still love wearing it. In fact, I'm pretty sure I wore this early on in my blogging days, so you can definitely see it in older outfit ideas.

Just in case you were wondering, I'm not sponsored by Sheinside by any means, nor did I get sent these products. I have worked with them last year and really loved their clothing, so I decided to make a little purchase myself. I am actually pretty sure I'll order again from their website, they always have really fashionable and trending items.

Have you ever tried Sheinside clothing? What did you think of their products?

Current Nail Polish Picks

I'm going to use spring as an excuse for the variety of nude, pale pink, neutral nail varnish colors that I gravitate towards. But in all honesty, I go for these shades all year-round, mainly because I feel like a pale pink or pastel color on your nails always looks classic and simple, perfect for everyday wear. I do go for bolder colors every now and then, but it's not among my regular go-to nail polishes. In this post I will be sharing just my main polish picks at the moment.

First of all, my most loved ones are the Rimmel Salon Pro polish in shade "Soul Session" and the Avon Gel Finish polish in "Sheer Love". They both give a very lovely finish and last pretty well on my nails (for about 5 days until they start to chip).

When I'm not using those two, I like to go for the Rimmel 60 Seconds "Instyle Coral", which is a really pretty bright peachy-pink shade. Perfect for spring days! Lastly, I like to use the Maybelline Colorama one, which has a bit of sparkle/glitter to it, making it last really well on your nails. The only downside to this one is that it is such a pain to take off, but other than that - lovely shade.

In case you're wondering, as I'm writing this I have on my nails the Avon Gel Finish nail polish. I am actually going to look into getting some more, because the finish of this one is really amazing. Thank you for reading!

Stripes & Pastels | What I Wore

Striped top: H&M  |  Skinny jeans: New Yorker  |  Blazer: similar  |  Scarf: H&M  |  Watch: New Look

In case you are new to my blog, you will probably soon learn that I am a huge fan of stripes. My striped blouses are my most worn ones, definitely, and I always feel like I could use some more, haha! :) I feel like they give that navy/nautical inspired theme to your outfit and they bring more life to it than a regular, basic tee. Since the weather has been getting *ever so slightly* warmer around here, I have started dropping off a few layers and I believe my blazers are going to be in to stay this spring. I paired this outfit with some simple skinny jeans that I got from New Yorker, which I feel like they have the perfect colour for spring (a little bit lighter than the usual ones). For shoes, I wore my black ankle boots from Deichmann, which are not pictured simply because all the photos that I took that included them turned out blurry (fail!), so I decided just not to include those. But if you'd like to see what they look like, many of my previous outfits feature them.

In the past few days, we've actually been having full on sunshine all day long, which is making me extremely happy. It's not too warm just yet, but I have finally begun running in the morning without feeling like my nose is gonna freeze. I feel like there's a whole new life once sun starts to rear its head. I am loving these days!

Do you ever find that seasons have an effect on your mood?

Current Foundation / Makeup Base

Before I get into the products that are shown in the picture above, I will have to mention the fact that I don't really wear all of these products on a daily basis. It definitely depends on what I am up to that day, and sometimes I will skip the foundation and replace it with a bit of concealer, sometimes I'll skip blush or bronzer altogether. With that being said, I have a set of products that I do tend to gravitate towards when it comes to the foundation/base of the makeup look.

My absolute favourite foundation is the Rimmel Match Perfection (as some of you probably already know), and I'm actually considering getting it in a shade lighter as well, just so that I can mix them if I get a bit more pale or a bit more tanned. I like to apply this either with my fingers or with the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, which gives a nice and flawless finish. Lately, for concealer, I've been using my Avon Luxe one, which is an illuminating one, so it's really perfect for the under eye area. I don't usually go for powder, because I just don't feel like it's necessary with this foundation, but when I feel like I need it, I always use the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder.

For the cheeks, I've been mostly contouring using the Sleek Face Form Kit, using the bronzer in the hollows on my cheeks, and the highlighter - which is my absolute favourite product to use to brighten up your complexion. I don't go for blush too often, but when I do, I love using the Rimmel Lasting Finish Blush in Live Pink, which is a really pretty soft pink shade.

That pretty much sums up the whole of the products that I use for when I want a full makeup base/foundation. What products do you usually go for?

H&M Spring Haul

Even though I don't usually do many haul posts on my blog, mainly because I feel like it doesn't really showcase the clothing too well (I would much rather do a video haul on my Youtube channel), I decided to do one today. That is just because what I'm showing here is just accessories/shoes, which photograph better than a pile of clothes. Basically, I went to a little shopping trip to the mall and randomly popped into H&M to see what they brought out for the spring season. I was also having quite a bad day, so I decided to get myself two of the items I was really into. It's not like it was a massive splurge or anything like that, cause these were both around the $10 mark. But I'm sure you all can relate - sometimes a bit of shopping is just what you need to make yourself feel better.

H&M are having quite a big collection of flats on display at the moment, at least in my local one, so I decided to get this lovely pair, since I really needed some new flats for spring and summer time. I decided to go for these Floral Ballet Pumps, which look so lovely and feminine, in my opinion. I love the pattern on them and I think these would go really well with a simple outfit, like jeans and a white top. Then I also got this pair of sunglasses, which are in a black color and have that cat-eye shape to them. I've never actually owned this type of sunnies, and I feel like they look really pretty on.

What is on your spring wishlist? Have you seen anything in H&M you liked so far?

Spring Florals | What I Wore

It is finally getting warmer around here and I couldn't be happier to bring out the florals in my closet, pastels and brighter colors. It is still quite chilly in the mornings, so a coat on top of this outfit is definitely mandatory, but I am enjoying it regardless. For today's outfit I wore a pair of black skinny jeans from New Yorker and a pink light sweater. I threw on top of that this new scarf I got from a local store, which is in a navy and pink type of floral pattern - I find this to be really appropriate for this time of year. And I feel like it pairs nicely with that sweater. My shoes are Deichmann, simple brown ankle boots, and my bag is also a brown leather one, which I got as a gift.

Soft Pastels | What I Wore

Jacket: similar  |  Sweater: similar  |  Jeans: New Yorker  |  Boots: Deichmann

Welcome to another What I Wore Wednesday post! We finally got a bit of good lighting in order to get some good full shots of the outfit, and since spring has arrived, I will try to do these more often actually. Today's outfit is one incorporating soft pastels, which I am loving now that the weather is finally getting warmer. I've been wearing this roll neck sweater a lot and I feel like it goes really well with a simple leather jacket on top for extra warmth. My jeans are also type lighter type, not really those dark navy type of colours. I paired this outfit with my black ankle boots and a navy bag. I wore this outfit whilst running some errands the other day, in case you were curious.
Just as a side note, I recently placed an order for some more spring fashion items and I was wondering whether to do a haul post about those when they arrive. I am really excited to get them and try on different outfit combinations with them. I'll keep you updated on that! Thank you for reading!

Rimmel Scandaleyes Precision Micro Eyeliner

If you've followed my blog for a while now, then you will know I am a big fan of Rimmel products in general. I feel like most of the products I have tried from their range have been really good quality ones, especially considering that they come from the drugstore and that the prices are very afforable on these. I have tried a few of their eyeliners as well, including the GlamEyes Liquid Liner, the Scandaleyes Kohl Pencil and, now, the Scandaleyes Micro Precision Liner.

I have to say from the very beginning that this one that I'm reviewing today has got to be my favourite so far. Although they're all pretty pigmented and last really long on your eyes, I prefer using this one over the others for just one simple reason. It helps me achieve a straight (ish) and clean line on my top lashline with very little effort. I find that it makes the job a whole lot easier for me and, even though this one is the least pigmented out of all three that I mentioned (although it still IS pigmented enough), it is my go-to eyeliner at the moment.

If you've not noticed this from the pictures already, it has got a pen-like applicator, which is probably why I find it way easier to use and I really do feel like it gives you more precision, as it claims to do. It lasts the entire day on my eyes and I honestly don't have much to complain about when it comes to this product.

Have you every tried this eyeliner? What's your favourite eyeliner to use so far?
