Light Blue & Beige | What I Wore

Beige sweater: local boutique  |  Light Jeans: New Yorker  |  Boots: Deichmann  |  Necklace: H&M

Over the weekend I went on a little shopping spree and bought a few clothing items, including the light wash jeans from this outfit. I mainly bought these because I wanted to have a pair of jeans in a colour other than dark navy, just to go with different outfit combinations. And, of course, spring is coming soon, so I think it will go lovely with light pastel colours. For this outfit, I paired them with a beige knit sweater and some brown accessories (brown ankle boots and brown leather bag). Finished the look with one of my favourite necklaces, the golden bar one from H&M. I've gotta say, even though it's still quite cold here, I am already looking forward to warmer spring days.

Comfort Zone Lipsticks

I've never been the kind of person to wear a bright bold lipstick. Don't get me wrong - I think they can look gorgeous, but I just don't usually feel alright wearing a bold lipstick on a daily basis. You probably noticed in previous posts, if you've been following for a while, that I do love my nude lipsticks very much and very rarely move away from those. So this post is all about my comfort zone lipsticks, the following being my four go-to products at the moment:

MAC Creme d'Nude. This is a first on my list, it's got a lovely creamy consistency (it's from the Cremesheen line) and stays on decently on your lips. The scent reminds me of vanilla and the colour is just the perfect nude, if you ask me.

Maybelline Bare to Be Bold. This lipstick is a lovely drugstore one, with a similar shade to the previous one, just a bit less pigmented than MAC. It is nice for everyday wear and it's very moisturizing and creamy in consistency as well.

Avon Ultra Color Rich Pout. Avon's Pout has got more of a rosy-pink tone, although it's not a very bright or bold shade. It's a really lovely neutral, natural pink. I really like the consistency of this, it's quite rich and moisturizing on the lips.

Essence Natural Beauty. My last pick for this post is a very afforable, drugstore lipstick from Essence. This one is still a colour in the rose-pink palette, but it's got more of a dusty-pink tone to it. It's a bit less creamier than the others, but still not drying on the lips.

What is your favourite everyday lipstick?

Winter Accessories | H&M

I don't know about you, but when it comes to winter accessories, my go-to items are definitely scarves. They just come in sooo many different shapes, colours, patterns - which makes them perfect for bringing any outfit out of the ordinary and spice it up a bit. With that being said, I don't usually wear hats. BUT! I recently found this cute knitted bobble hat from H&M (and, by the way, this was not intended to be an H&M exclusive post). I am very much fond of the way it sits on my head and - I think - it looks very adorable on. Especially with that faux fur bit on top.
Secondly, I bought a very thin and simple necklace, also from H&M. If you've been following my blog for a while, you will know that I am a person who enjoys very much wearing just basic and simple jewelry and accessories like that. So, naturally, I picked this up from the array of necklaces they had. It is a golden fine necklace with a round/circle detailing on it. I love it and I think it goes so well with a ton of different outfits.

The Contour and Highlight Picks

I'm not sure if any of you do the same thing I do, but recently I find that when it comes to face products I will some days go for bronzer and highlighter, whereas on other days I will simply go for blush. I only usually go for all three when I do my makeup for an event or just more special occasions.

That being said, I thought I would share some of my most recent go-to products when it comes to the contour and highlight job. The first thing I apply to define the face is the Avon Luxe highlighting concealer in a v-shape under the eyes and blend it well. I will then contour with the bronzer that comes in the Sleek Face Form kit (I have it in shade Light) and, finally, I apply the highlighter from the same Sleek palette. This highlighter is one of the best I have ever tried, it's not too shimmery or powerful, just the right amount to give that dewy glow to your cheeks.

Those are mainly the products that I go for when it comes to contouring and highlighting my face. What are your usual picks for this?

Winter Bundle-Up | What I Wore

Sweater: New Look  |  Jeans: New Yorker  |  Scarf: New Look  |  Boots: Deichmann  |  Watch: New Look

We've been having some very cold and dreary weather lately, all foggy and not so much fun to have to deal with everyday. So my outfits have basically remained as comfortable, bundled-up and warm as possible. That's the reason why I've been loving this thick sweater from New Look - it is one of the warmest items I own. And that weather is also the reason why I didn't take some full shots of my outfit - it has made it impossible to take pictures with even decent lighting in them, so I decided to just take some like this, which are at least more bearable than the other ones I took of this outfit. Can't wait for warmer and longer days, so I can actually go outside and take better pictures.
Anyways, this outfit is basically a combination of greys, blacks and burgundy, a combo that I really like wearing and that is very winter-appropriate, if you ask me. I hope you enjoyed seeing my outfit, even though it's not a full shot of me wearing it.

Fluffy Jumpers | What I Wore

Sweater: C&A  |  Jeggings: New Look  |  Boots: Deichmann (similar)  |  Necklace: Bornprettystore*

I'm gonna have to admit that this is one of the most comfy outfits I've worn lately. Since fluffy jumpers like this are so popular and they always look so cozy, I decided to get one myself. I purchased it from C&A a few weeks back actually. For this outfit I decided to pair it with some jeggings from New Look (also very comfortable to wear) and my beloved knee high black suede boots from Deichmann. My bag is very simple, but I love that it's got that structure that keeps it quite sturdy and long lasting. I like that I can keep all my folders and documents inside, without having to worry about them getting all wrinkled. My necklace is a golden one that I received from Bornprettystore this summer and am still wearing it quite often.

The Haircare Edit

After using these haircare products for quite a while and seeing how well they work for my hair, I figured I would make a post to chat a bit about them and share what I've been using and repurchasing when it comes to hair products. I have repurchased all of the products above at least once, except for the Batiste dry shampoo which is a new product to me (but I definitely will repurchase after I've emptied it).

The one conditioner that I've used in the past months is the Dove Nourishing Care with Argan Oil. It's basically a two in one type of product, since it encompasses both a conditioner and a hair treatment. I have to say that it's definitely one of the best conditioner-like products that I've used and I can definitely tell a difference in my hair.

After washing and conditioning my hair, I like to apply the Avon Advance Techniques Argan Oil Treatment (it appears that argan oil is in almost everything these days - isn't it?!) on the bottom part of my hair, usually on wet hair and let it dry like that. I only apply one pump - maximum two at once, and it gives a nice shine without making the hair greasy or weighting it down.

For stying my hair, my go-to hair spray has definitely been the Nivea Diamond Gloss one. I like the scent of it, it's not too over-powering, it makes curls stay in place really well - it's a great product all-in-all.

Finally, in between washes, I like to use the Batiste Dry Shampoo for adding a bit more volume to the roots and for making it look fresh and keep it from becoming oily. I have it in the tropical scent, but really want to try out more of the range, so let me know which scent is your favourite in the comments below.

What are some of your favourite haircare products? Do you use/like any of the above?

Faux Fur & Leather Layering | What I Wore

Top: New Yorker (similar) | Fur Vest: Bershka | Leather Jacket: similar | Jeans: New Yorker | Boots: Deichmann

If you've seen my outfits from the past few fall/winter months, then you will know how much I love this faux fur vest I got from Bershka. I've been wearing it a lot during fall time and, when colder winter days came around, I was a bit bummed out because I couldn't only wear my faux fur vest or I would freeze. And then I realized (silly me) that I can actually wear it as a layering piece underneath jackets or coats. I've been loving making different combinations of that sort lately and here is one of them - admittedly, this outfit is definitely not for the extreme cold days, since the jacket I'm wearing is quite short. I do love the outfit and I think it's a really good idea to layer your vests and jackets for a different type of look.

Both the jacket and the vest are kind of in the same range of colour, so I think they fit together nicely. Underneath that I'm wearing a simple black top from New Yorker and just basic jeans. For boots, of course, I went for one of my Deichmann ones - the brown Chelsea type ankle boots.

P.S. May I just add - this is the first outfit post in which I'm wearing my latest accessory: my engagement ring!!! :)

New Skincare to the Test

I don't know about you, but where I live the weather has been pretty crazy cold lately and, therefore, my skin has gotten crazy dry. I did use plenty of moisturizing products, but apparently none of them were really moisturizing enough this time. So I figured I would go ahead and get a few new skincare products to test and see if they will help my skin at least a little bit.

I visited the Boots section of our local pharmacy yesterday and found these two products from No7 designed specially for dry and very dry skin, so I decided to give them a go. They are both from the Beautiful Skin collection, which is one that I have not tried before - actually, I don't think I ever owned any No7 products until now. I have not read any reviews on these yet, so I'm excited to see how they will work. I will, of course, do a full review on them once I test them for a while. The first thing I got is the No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Lotion, which I suppose you use after taking your makeup off, for a deeper cleanse. The second thing I got is the No7 Beautiful Skin Hydration Mask which comes in a very interesting packaging (with the swirly bit) and I think it's one of those pumps that help you get all the product out of the packaging.

I also got not too long ago the Nivea Eye Cream with grape seed oil, which I actually used a couple of times already. I can't really say much about it yet, just that I had to be really careful not to apply it too close to my lash line or it will sting a bit. So I'm not sure whether that's just me being too sensitive, or the formula  bit too harsh for the eyes. I'll try it some more and review it eventually with a full opinion on it.

After giving these products a go for a while, I'll report back with some proper reviews. If any of you have tried these yet, let me know how they worked for you!

Avon Luxe Illuminating Concealer

I purchased the Avon Luxe concealer about a month ago and gave it a go during the holidays, to see how it works. To be honest, the packaging really drew me to it in the first place. It looks very high-end with the gold, it kinda reminds me of the YSL highlighting concealer. It comes in one of those tubes that you have to twist at the end for the product to come out though the brush. It's actually quite a nice packaging and I do like that it comes with a brush to apply, although I do use other brushes to blend it out.
Moving on from the packaging, the actual product is very light (I believe it only comes in two colors and I have the lightest one), so I do think its purpose is more inclined towards a highlighting type of product rather than just concealing. I like to apply it under my eyes and it does a good job at making your face look brighter. I did find it a bit hard to work with at first because it was a little bit of a drier consistency than what I'm used to, so you have to make sure you blend it nicely or it will crease in the little fine lines under your eyes. I like to blend it with the same brush I apply my foundation with (the Real Techniques Buffing Brush).
All in all, it's quite a nice product if you want to use it for highlighting under the eyes, plus it will look really lovely in your makeup collection.

Have you tried this product? What did you think of it?

I have really big news (that I actually mentioned briefly in a previous post): I GOT ENGAGED!! It happened around Christmas time and it was so magical. I am so grateful and happy to be engaged to the love of my life and my best friend. I know it might sound very much like a cliche, but it is actually very true, at least in our relationship. If you follow me on other social media places than you probably already knew, because I posted about it on instagram, twitter..and I actually made a little clip on my youtube channel of the proposal.
If you are curious to know how it happened, we went to this lovely restaurant which has an amazing view of the entire city where we live. We had such a nice evening there, ate great food and took lots of pictures, because it is a moment I want to remember forever. He took me out on the balcony of the restaurant and that's where he proposed. It was so magical .... and I obviously started crying (I'm pretty sure he teared up a bit too, but guys will never admit to that - right?! Haha!).

In case you would like to know a bit of our story... My fiancĂ© (that sounds so weird to say) and I met in high-school and we've been together since May 2009 (so, for about 5 and a half years). As he had to leave for college before me, we were in a long distance relationship for 2 years, which was not easy, but has actually brought us closer. I eventually joined him in this new city, once I left for college as well..and we also moved in together at that point.

That's about it for this post. I am really happy and cannot wait to start doing some wedding planning (even though it actually makes me feel a bit anxious/nervous). I will try to bring you along for the journey as much as I can and share things as I plan and make decisions. Because I think that's so much fun and I've always loved reading/watching other people's. Let me know if there's any specific things or posts you would like to see regarding this.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog! Have a great day!

Goodbye 2014, Hello 2015 | Part 2

If you've read my previous post, then you will already know a bit about what I feel were my biggest accomplishments of 2014. As I mentioned before, this Part 2 will be encompassing my resolutions for 2015. I really like writing these resolutions on my blog, as I have them in one place to look at when next New Years Eve strikes. I love looking back and seeing what I've accomplished from last year's list. So here is mine for 2015:

1. Finished the first year of my Master's Degree successfully.
2. Improve as much as I possibly can in my new job.
3. Plan and book the most important details of my wedding (venue, photographer, music etc.).
4. Workout 2-3 days a week.
5. Learn new healthy recipes (thankfully, we all have Pinterest on our side for that).
6. Begin writing my dissertation (because I will finish my master's in summer 2016).
7. Start a savings account to buy a place of our own.

So that's about it for my list so far! Wishing you all a happy New Year!!!
What are your main resolutions for the new year?
