What I Wore Wednesday #13 | Aztec & Coral

top : local boutique
skirt : new yorker
shoes : benvenutti (long ago)
bag : vintage

I'll start this post by saying please excuse the boxes that you see peeking in the background. We are currently in the process of moving places and I'm sure you all know how hectic that can get. I wasn't sure whether I was going to be able to post an outfit this week, but I managed to do it - woohoo!! I've been wearing this skirt a lot - I love the aztec prints for this summer, so this is right up my alley. And I combined it with a pop of color with the coral top, along with some brown tones.

Hope you enjoyed this outfit post! Thank you for taking the time to read my blog!

My First MAC Purchase!

Recently I discovered that a MAC store has opened in my town and I got so excited that I just had to go and pick something up. Especially since I don't own any MAC products - I guess it's because it wasn't really accessible for me to get my hands on them, plus they're not the most budget-friendly makeup products. I decided to go for something that I knew I would wear a lot and not something daring that I might or might not wear that often. So I got the ever-so-famous Creme d'Nude shade (a Cremesheen, which you probably already knew). I am in love with this lipstick right now and I find the formulation of this to be perfect for me. Now I need to make a MAC savings-jar for future trips to their store.

What is your absolute favorite MAC product? Let me know what I should look into next.
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog!

What I Wore Wednesday #12 | Cream & White

top : atmosphere (primark brand)
pants : zara basic
shoes : deichmann
necklace : c/o bornprettystore

Today's outfit is for a slightly chilly summer evening. I wore a combination of cream and white, just because I love this type of outfit for summertime. I recently got this oversized blouse, which is a very thin fabric, so it's the perfect cover-up for summer. I like to pair these kind of outfits with golden accessories, since I feel like it brings out the outfit more and it looks especially nice if you have a bit of tan going on.

Hope you enjoyed this outfit post! Thank you for taking the time to read my blog!

Take a Hike, Mike!

This past weekend we went on a little hike to the Turda Gorge, which is an absolutely stunning place to visit. The main trail is quite an easy one, with just a few more abrupt spots. Like the one above - hence the face expression. :P I was a bit iffy when I first saw that, but after running into kids (like 6 year-olds) along the way, my courage kicked in - haha! I figured, if they can do it - I can do it (real mature, huh?). It was a really nice experience though. And you don't really need fancy equipment, just some good shoes (not flip-flops or flats, which I've seen on other girl along the way..). I also vlogged a bit while there, so if you would like to see the video you can check it out here.

The trail we took is the one marked by the red dot, which is the one that's most popular and it goes all throughout the gorge.

The mandatory victory-pose, as we finished the trail - had to go all the way back as well though. It is about an hour and a half one way (so 3 hours altogether).

And this is my boyfriend's victory-pose - it's probably supposed to be the "Mr.Muscle" one, haha! :)

We stayed in one of these little cabins over the weekend, which were so lovely.

I took with me a few books/notebooks to keep me busy in the afternoon, while we "camped".

How do you like to spend your weekends? Do you enjoy hiking?

Picnic Basket Ideas

I recently bought a picnic basket (not too sure why I haven't done that before) and now my favorite thing is to spend time putting together lovely bite-sized meals for picnic afternoons. I actually took the time to film the process a few days ago, which I'll be posting tomorrow on my channel here. Nonetheless, I thought I would share a few bits of it here as well.

(Linking up with Katie did What)

My picnic basket included the following:
  1. towel(s) - they don't need any explanation.
  2. serving plate - makes it easier to place meals on a flat surface.
  3. smoked salmon croutons with feta cheese (& cucumbers) - very easy to make and soo delicious!
  4. summer salad - I like to switch it up with different veggies, prosciutto etc.
  5. fruit of choice - I like to go for grapes or strawberries, but any will do.
  6. dried fruits & seeds - I love snacking on these, plus they're healthy too.
  7. chocolate treats - ok, not the healthiest thing round the block, but I can't help it, haha! :)
  8. lemonade - because a refreshing beverage is a must for any outing.

What do you pack when you go for a picnic? What's your favorite summer activity?
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog!

What I Wore Wednesday #11 | Birds Print Dress

dress : c/o sheinside
bracelets : c/o bornprettystore (here and here)
sandals : deichmann

I am loving this dress at the moment. It is a white spaghetti strap one and I think the pattern is so perfect for summertime. I like that it's cinched at the waist, because it gives it more form. I like pairing it with simple accessories, like the two golden-white bracelets and the nude sandals. I was so excited when I got this dress in the mail and I can already tell I'm going to wear it a lot this summer!

Hope you enjoyed this outfit post! Thank you for taking the time to read my blog!

Summer Clothing Haul

I got several questions referring to the summer clothing I like to wear and whether I would do a haul, so here it is! If you would like to see the items fully, you can check out my video haul over here.

I firstly picked up four t-shirts for summertime, because these are very versatile and nice to have as basics, because you can switch them up and mix them in different outfits. I got the black & striped one from H&M, and then the coral & grey one from a local store, but they all look very similar.

I also picked two dressed - must-haves for summer, right?! I got the aztec printed one from New Yorker and I also got a belt to pair it with (pictured below). And the dress on the right is the lovely one that I got sent from SheInside.com. They contacted me a while back and let me pick an item of my choice, so I decided to go for this summer staple - which I can already tell I'm going to wear a looot. You can see an outfit post with it tomorrow, so stay tuned for that! I love the bird print on it and the chiffon material - it looks so lovely and feminine! Here's the link to it, in case you're interested! I would highly recommend their online store, they have great deals on cute clothes!

I bought the beach bag that you see above from my local Lidl and it is so cute, I love the stripes on it and the bright summer colors. It's going to be perfect for my sea-side trip next month. I also got the brown belt from New Yorker (as mentioned above).

And the three pieces of jewelry that you see are from BornPrettyStore.com. It has such inexpensive items and I found a lot that I would buy right away - if that wouldn't make a whole in my wallet. I got to pick three of my choice and I decided to go for two cute summer bracelets: a simple, golden one that would look adorable in an arm-candy combination & a white one with a cute little owl on it. I was impressed by how well these fit me, since I always have trouble with finding bracelets my size - I've got tiny wrists. So if you are like me, definitely go check out their jewelry section here: Jewelry & Accessories. I also got a long leaf necklace, which I find perfect for pairing with summer dresses for a nice bohemian vibe, plus it will transition well into fall.
On top of their low prices, they also have free worldwide shipping, so that's always a plus. Oh, and here's a little coupon code they provided for my readers, in case you want to make a purchase: FMAT10 (you get 10% off your order). You can also see how they look like on in the photo below.

Finally, for bottoms, I got a pair of beige pants from Zara Basic Denim, which you have already seen in previous outfits. And a little aztec print skirt from New Yorker - I really love these prints for summer, in case you haven't noticed yet.

Hope you enjoyed this summer clothing haul! Come back tomorrow for an outfit post with some of these items.
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog!

Healthy Habits: What I Ate

I haven't done a "What I Ate" type of post in quite a while now and, whilst brainstorming what I should post for this week's Healthy Habits linkup, I decided this would be a good fit. I really like the recipes below and I figured I would share them with you, in case you're looking for new meal ideas. (Linking up with Katie did What)

Breakfast

I basically just cooked some scrambled eggs with a bit of parmesan cheese in it ("omelette du fromage"- anyone?! Hehe, not really an omelette, but it always reminds me of that). On the side, I went with a combination of veggies: arugula, cucumber and radish.  It's a really healthy and tasty breakfast that will get you going for the day. Oh, and I also had my obligatory morning coffee.

Lunch

I am a huge lover of spaghetti or pasta meals and I always try new recipes. It's really easy and fast to cook, and I'm almost always up for a pasta dish. For this week I made a sauce with lemon juice, avocado, salt, pepper, oregano (and a bit of water to make it creamier) - put all of this in your blender and that's pretty much it. Finally, I sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top.

Dinner
I got not too long ago an electric grill from Russell Hobbs and I love using it. It cooks meat really fast and it makes it healthier than, say, frying meat in a pan. So that is how I cooked the chicken breast. On the side, I made some baked potatoes (seasoned with: salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano, olive oil). I also added a bit of sour cream and chopped green onions on top of the potatoes (after taking them out of the oven). So delicious!

Hope you enjoyed this week's What I Ate post. If you want to watch the video of how I cooked these meals, you can do that here.

What I Wore Wednesday #10 | Aztec Prints

dress: new yorker
bandeau (top): new yorker
belt: new yorker
bag: vintage
shoes: deichmann

I took the pictures for this outfit (actually my boyfriend did) when we went this past weekend at a nearby lake and dam. It looks breathtaking and I figured it would be a nice background for these photos, even tough you can't really see much of it. I think I'll make a separate post with other photos from that place, because they're really nice to see. Anyway, on to the outfit of the day, I got this aztec print dress from New Yorker this past weekend and I wanted to wear it immediately, so I also purchased a bandeau top from there because, as you can see, it has quite a low cut in the front. I also picked a brown leather belt because I felt like it would add to the bohemian feel of the dress and would give it more shape.

Hope you enjoyed this outfit post! Thank you for taking the time to read my blog!

June Favorites

Even though it has passed more than a week since June ended, I figured it's not THAT late to write a beauty favorites post. For makeup, I have been enjoying a lot two products - the first being the L'oreal True Match Lumi Foundation (shade N3), which has become my go-to foundation for when I need a bit more coverage, but also want to have a natural finish. Secondly, I love the pigmentation and the shades of the Sleek Face Form Kit (in the shade "Light").

I recently tried the Vichy Capital Soleil After Sun lotion and it is amazing for any trouble you might have with your skin after exposure to sun. I would highly recommend it and I talked a bit more about it in this post. Also as far as tanning goes, I've been testing the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze lotion and it's been working great for giving me quite the tan (not really gradual, I would say) and in a very natural looking tone. I will make a full review on it soon.

Finally, for skincare, I recently got the ever-so-famous Bioderma Micellar Water and I'm going to have to agree with al the hype it's been given. It removes makeup so well and easily, whilst also leaving the skin clean and refreshed. A must-have in my handbag in the past weeks has been the Avene Thermal Spring Water spray, which is perfect for getting that refreshing feel without ruining your makeup.

If you'd like to know a bit more details you can watch the full favorites video here.

What products have you been loving this month?
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog!
