On my get-a-healthier-lifestyle journey, one of the main things that I'm attempting to do is to try and replace the unhealthy snacks with healthier options. Of course, I'll still have my summer ice-cream and popcorn and other things I enjoy - because we gotta live a little- , but for the most part I try and stick to fruits, yogurt, smoothies or other options. This week I've been snacking almost everyday on this huge pineapple. It lasts me so long that I need to freeze most of it, so that it doesn't go bad very fast. I will usually leave a few servings just freshly cut, and the rest I'll place in the frezzer - these I will use for smoothies, which are sooo delicious with a bit of pineapple in there. It definitely satisfies the sweet cravings!
Another habit I'm trying to get into is drinking more water. I found that I would usually drink a glass of water with my meals and that would be about it for the day, which is not even close to the amount of water recommended - especially during summertime. For several months, I've started trying to drink more, but I always have a bit of struggle with it because I sometimes forget to drink enough throughout the day. You know you're supposed to drink 2 l of water every day, that's 8 regular cups....to be honest, I lose track of how many cups I had. So I recently got this 600 ml (20 oz) bottle to keep by my side. It's really nice because you can also throw it in your bag or take it with you when you're running. Basically I try to drink 3 bottles and a half each day to keep hydrated.
